Privacy Policy

KALCOM MARKET PLACE ("KALCOM", "we", "us") provides point-of-sale software to businesses in Ghana. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. It applies to business owners and their staff who use the platform, and to visitors of this website. We aim to comply with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana.

1. Information we collect

2. How we use your information

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your business's sales data for advertising.

3. Who can see your data

Each business's data is isolated to that business. Your staff see only what their role allows (for example, cashiers cannot access another business's records). KALCOM administrators can access data where necessary to operate, support, and secure the platform. We share data with service providers only as needed to run the service — our hosting provider, our email delivery provider, and Paystack for payments — and with authorities where the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

We keep your business data for as long as your account is active. Sales and payment records are retained as required for accounting and tax purposes. If you close your account, you may request deletion of your business data, subject to records we are legally required to keep.

5. Security

Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing and are never visible to us. Connections to the platform are encrypted (HTTPS). Access is controlled by role, login attempts are rate-limited, and sensitive actions are recorded in audit logs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data with measures appropriate to a financial record-keeping service.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and browser storage on cashier devices to enable offline selling. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

Under Ghana's Data Protection Act, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, and to request deletion where applicable. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.

8. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account owners by email or platform message.
